Waves
This page provides information on wave heights and sea states that may be relevant for an oil spill response operation.
Significant wave height: Commonly used as a measure of the height of ocean waves. Indicated by the notation Hs.
Maximum wave height: 1 in 100 waves will be more than 50 % higher than Hs, 1 in 1000 waves roughly twise Hs.
